ISPS Handa Sponsors Day at Celtic Manor.

On May 8th I had the awesome opportunity to play in the ISPSHanda Sponsors Day at Celtic Manor thanks to my coach Craig Thomas and ISPSHanda. We arrived early and had breakfast in the 2010 clubhouse then we headed to the range for the ISPSHanda golf clinic which was run by my coach Craig Thomas. Sky were there filming and also National Club Golfer. Craig taught me to do my thinking box and my playing box which I use in all my golf now. Then we got on the buggys and headed to our holes for the shotgun start. I didn't do too bad, had a few course pars including one on the hardest hole on the course. After our round on the 2010 course we got changed into our smart clothes and had a 3 course meal in the Samuel Ryder suite, I tried the starter, ate the beef bit of the main course but also had posh chips lol and ate the dessert. It was an awesome day and I'm so lucky to have been able to take part. The following day there was a big post on the European Tour website including my interview :)

New Clubs and choices.

In April I made the move from the Callaway X Hot irons and onto Mizuno MP53's. I love them and find them much better to play with.

Also in April I made the decision to change home clubs. I am a member at Rhondda and The Vale and my home club was The Vale but Rhondda asked if id play for their Junior 1st team and to do so I would have to change home clubs. A goal of mine for this year was to make a Junior 1st team so I made the move :)

Autism Expo

I took part in the Autism Expo in April. In 2015 I'm having Jay's Autism Awareness Charity Golf Day and its connected with Hollys Ball and the Autism Heroes awards and at the expo there was a stall with them on to spread awareness.

Disabled Golf Association Race to Wales Tour.

In April I played the 1st Race to Wales event as I couldn't make the first one and the next one was cancelled and since the one I played in another was cancelled. The event I played was Wernddu, it is an awful course and if I hadn't wanted points on the board id never have played it, I did ok tho and played to handicap and came in second place.

General golf and Easter Bowl.

Never stop playing and practising and volunteering :) Also I won the Junior Easter Bowl at Rhondda G.C.

Principality Wales Junior Open qualifier.

This year the Golf Union of Wales made history by allowing the use of the R&A adjusted rules for disabled golfers, this made it possible for myself and my friend Lewis to be able to enter. We both ended up entering Builth Wells. I almost had to pull out because id been in bed ill for 3 days but i dug deep and played and tho I didn't play my best golf I'm glad I went. I was in the paper aswell in the South Wales Echo because it was an historic first for the rules to be used.

England Disabled Golf Association Race to Burhill qualifier.

In March I travelled across the bridge to play at Thornbury Golf Club in the Race to Burhill qualifier. Really nice course, managed to get the win and qualified for the Race to Burhill final and a handicap drop :)

Finalist :)

In February I discovered that I am a finalist in the RCT Young Sports Personality of the year awards. The awards are in June.

Winter Golf.

I've been so busy I haven't been updating my blog but will now. Through the winter I concentrated on getting my golf better. I visited my coach in December and also March. I've been volunteering with Valleys Golf at the Inclusive classes and mainstream classes too. I did a Tri Golf course. I also did the Valleys Golf awards and was able to join in and give out certificates.
